About the team and position

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Customer Acquisition(CA) team whose mission is to deliver engaging experiences for every consumer to purchase a used vehicle from Carvana.
We are looking for a talented engineer who is passionate about building scalable experiences for our customers. You will help design, build, maintain, and optimize source code for large web applications.
We are a fast-growing team that is focused on performance, scalability, and reliability to provide the best experience to our customers.

What you’ll be doing

Participating end-to-end in the product life cycle: requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, support and maintenance.
Developing loosely coupled solutions that are scalable, testable, modularized, and reusable.
Designing, developing, maintaining, and deploying full-stack solutions using JavaScript(React, Redux), C# (RESTful server-side via Web API), and cloud services (Azure).
Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to establish appropriate intent of our systems.
Participating in peer discussions on architecture and the overall direction of Carvana platforms.
Appropriately managing priorities, dependencies, scope, dates, and deliverables.
Representing a long-term perspective on our technical landscape.
Working in a team environment using Agile project approaches (Scrum, Lean, XP).
Learning and trying new technologies, approaches, and participating in bringing software engineering in Carvana to the next level.

What you should have

BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of software engineering, with consistently advancing skills and responsibilities.
Expertise with at least one object-oriented language (C# preferred).
Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript (ES2015+).
Familiarity with any contemporary UI framework or library, such as React, Angular, or VUE.
Experience in building scalable solutions, supporting high load and availability, understanding caching, sharding, container-based architecture.
Experience in working with data storages (SQL or NoSQL).
Experience in working with any cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, RedHat, etc.).
Experience in code quality practices: writing unit and integration tests, using test coverage, CI/CD, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects, and rapidly changing priorities.
Self-motivated; work well both independently and collaboratively.
A positive attitude and an excellent sense of humor.

It would be great if you also have:
Understanding of .NET Core
Experience in container-oriented architecture using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
Experience writing microservices and re-architecting systems
Experience writing GraphQL interfaced services.
